We are seeking an experienced Android developer who will be responsible for leading a small team of developers in design, implementation and support of Android applications. This role will be part of the Mobile Center of Excellent (MCoE) team. They will work alongside the MCoE director, business stakeholders, product owners, testers, and developers to build dynamic data driven apps with a focus on user experience for different business units across Successful candidates for this position must have prior experience leading a small development team delivering Android consumer apps.

Education and Experience:
Education: BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent; advance degree desirable.

Work Experience:
6+ years of relevant experience in delivering web and mobile technologies.
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent; advance degree desirable.
Experience in design and launching complex business/mobile applications in the market.
Ability to demonstrate apps in Google Play.
Strong knowledge of release/build/configuration management practices.
Strong understanding of software best-practices as it applies to mobile and business application development with hands on architecture design and development experience required in building large scale applications.
Demonstrable understanding of object oriented design/development, functional programming, and service oriented architecture.
Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical and aggressive project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of complex development issues including security, accessibility, privacy, concurrency and cross-browser/device compatibility.
Experience working in a rapid and agile development environment with frequent deliveries.
Strong experience in Software Development Life Cycle Management for new products and for products in maintenance mode. Experience with Agile is a huge plus.

Responsibilities :

Ensures compliance with security, infrastructure processes, policies and other administrative/corporate procedures.
Ensures project success by reviewing project plans, timelines, estimates, and requirements documents providing feedback.
Participates in code reviews, pull requests, and paired programming.
Takes initiative to find opportunities to do things better, faster, and smarter. Should be self-directed and proactive, able to think beyond the immediate problem and anticipate using exceptional judgment and problem solving abilities.
Takes a leadership and mentoring role when working with less experienced staff always raising the bar of technical expertise within the organization.
Partners with stakeholders, educating, negotiating and influencing them on implementation options and risks.
Must be an active member in the tech community.
Provides unique insight in the analysis of customer business requirements that may cross multiple functional areas and/or multiple technical platforms and understand the broad strategic implications.
Contribute to creativity idea generation and may initiate and lead strategic projects that will add significant value to the business.
Contributes to technical strategic planning; proposing new directions and technologies.
Participates in buy/build analysis and feasibility reviews as well as in the development of RFIs, RFPs, and vendor reviews.
As needed, develops/modifies programs and/or customizes applications to meet business needs.
Evaluates and select tools necessary to build and support applications.
Merges git feature branches to development and resolves merge conflicts.
Looks for opportunities to automate repetitive development tasks.
Writes bash shell scripts to automate tasks.
Refactor existing code and looks to create shared libraries.
